Accomplishments
Through the generosity of Bridge To Rwanda donors, a new addition has been built to the facility which houses about 120 handicapped orphans. This is one of the three homes for orphans in the Muhororo area that have been rebuilt, or repaired, thanks to our donors. The new carpentry shop is being used to create furniture and other items, which generate funds to help support the needs of the children.
We have been blessed to have a dedicated group of Engineers Without Borders from Cincinnati (EWB-GCP) who have been working for the past three years on water projects in two areas of Muhororo. These projects are providing additional sources of water, filtration, and storage tanks to fight the effects of drought. In addition, the water is piped down to the three facilities for the orphans, thus eliminatingthe orphans' daily three mile trips to get water for drinking and washing needs.
